whats the best/easiest wiring harness to use for this trailer hitch?

All the trailer wiring harnesses we offer for the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer would install in the same manner.

The harnesses would all connect inline at the connection of the vehicle's taillight harness and the taillight assemblies. You'd then need to run a wire under the vehicle to the positive battery terminal to power the trailer lights. I'd recommend the Tekonsha # 118538, as I've found over the years that their taillight converter/trailer wiring harnesses work the best with the fewest problems compared to the others that are available.

You'll also need a ball mount like # C45521, a hitch pin like # PC2 and a trailer ball like # 19256 for a 1-7/8 or
# 19258 for a 2 inch ball.
