the shipping weight would be good enough. I can subtract the removable arms weight. My goal is to determine how much weight is added to the car when not towing. I wish to track this car.

The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 52728-1 you were looking at for your 2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata weights in at 45lbs with the removeable arms, and while Roadmaster did not have an exact weight of the arms they did mention they are roughly 5lbs each.
