The Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer with V-Style Carriers for 2 Kayaks - 800 lbs # MAL52FR has crossbars that are not meant to be removed. The crossbars measure 78" long and for that reason I recommend going with a different trailer that will fit your 5'8" gate without removing anything from the trailer.
I would look into the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with J-Style Carriers for 2 Kayaks - 400 lbs # MAL93FR which has J-cradles for 2 kayaks just like the LowBed MicroSport. This will fit your gate without any modification as the widest part of the trailer is the crossbars which measure 58" or 4'8" approximately. If you want to haul 4 kayaks then you can look into the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with Post Style Carrier for 4 Kayaks - 400 lbs # MAL63FR which also has 58" crossbars that will fit your 5'8" gate without an issue. These are also much more economical than the one you originally inquired about. I attached demonstration videos for you to check out.
