Question:

Im looking for awnings for a slide out. It measures 162.25 flange to flange. Looking at: Solera RV Slide-Out Awning - 137 Wide - 48 Projection - Black Item # LCV000168110 It lists that it fits slide outs from 158-163 so that would work for me. I watched your video about the awnings and it says to size the awning so that it overhangs the flange by at least 2.5 per side. That would mean I would need at least 167.25 fabric width. The LCV000168110 lists fabric width of only 163 so would I need the LCV000168112 instead? I also need an awning for another slide that measures 83.25 flange to flange. Thanks.

For determining the proper size Solera Slider you need, to measure the total width of your slide room from the outside including the flange then add a minimum of 5" (2-1/2" each for the left/right side overhang). You can have greater than 2-1/2" overhang if you want, but it is suggested that you do not go any less. Since you have done so with resulting measurement of 162.25" you need an awning no less than 167.25. You can go beyond the overhang of 2.5" each side if you choose, no worries. Just do not go less than the suggested minimum for best results.

Based on the numbers you provided, of needing something at least 167.25", I suggest the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning - 14'1" Wide - 48" Projection - Black # LCV000168112. This is what is recommended for slides between 164" - 169".

For you smaller size I suggest the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning - 8'1" Wide - 48" Projection in black # LCV000168107. This has a fabric length of 97" so that will provide approximately 4.5" of overhang
