Question:

I have a new 2021 4runner off road premium that can with the roof rack but not the cross bars. I know Toyota will be happy to sell me their factory cross bars but I am curious on what else is available? Typically, I carry either a canoe or kayak on the roof rack. Down the road, I would like to keep my option open for a cargo carrier that would easily mount on such as the YakimaY07138

There are quite a few different crossbar options that will attach to the factory raised roof rails on your 2021 Toyota 4Runner, but of them I recommend taking a look at the Yakima Roof Rack System which uses 50" Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00425, and TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y33TR.

This system offers 50" of useable crossbar space, a weight capacity of 165lbs, and can be secured to your vehicle by using the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07204.

The Jetstream Crossbars # Y00425 are compatible with quite a few different accessories like the Inno Locker Watersport Carrier # INXA445 which would be perfect for carrying a kayak or canoe, and also the Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket # Y07138 you mentioned.
