I have been looking at a Reese 8508211 brake controller which needs a harness. You indicate a C55106 which is a 5 conductor flat connector to the trailer. The small camper has onboard batteries and I want to be able to charge them when towing which seems to indicate a 7 pin connector. Is that possible? And do you have one?

Ok, we can help you out here, and to add a brake controller as well as apply a maintenance charge to your batteries, you are correct that you will need to add a 7-way to your 2011 Honda CR-V. First, for the brake controller, the part number you mentioned is the same (just re-branded) as the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885, and along with that you will need the Brake Control Harness # 20127.
Then you will need to add a 4-way in order to utilize the lighting functions, which will then plug into the 7-way; the 7-way will allow the remaining functions, including the use of a brake controller and 12 volt power. The correct parts for your 2011 Honda CR-V will be the following:
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55106
- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7
