Can MB Sturgis Propane Hose 100022-60-MBS Be Used With Buddy Heater
Published 02/19/2021 >
Question:
Does this hose 100022-60-MBS require/is it recommended to use a fuel filter with it? From what I have read certain hoses leak oil through the fittings and it builds up damaging the buddy heaters. What material of hose prevents the seepage where a fuel filter is not required? And how can you tell the difference?

The MB Sturgis Propane Hose for Small Appliance - Handwheel POL x Disposable Cylinder Port - 5' # 100022-60-MBS you were looking at will require a fuel filter when used with your Buddy Heater per the Buddy Heater owner's manual.
According to Mr. Heater who makes the Buddy Heater only their 10' proprietary hose can be used without a filter due to the special rubber used that will not seep oil when used in a high pressure setting.
Typically this is not an issue as the regulator of a propane system will reduce the pressure causing any rubber to be fine, but per Mr. Heater since the Buddy Heater cannot be used with a regulator you will need a fuel filter to protect it from damage.
We do not offer the fuel filter, but you can purchase it directly from Mr. Heater.
I included a video of the # 100022-60-MBS for you to take a look at.
