What is the length of the cutout on the underside of the Rhino Rack 46 Vortex bar VA118B where the measurement strip slides in?

The underside of the # RRVA118B has a slot that extends in from each end measuring 11-3/4 inches long. The slot doesn't run the entire length of the underside of the bar as you can see in the linked video.
