Helpful Expert Reply:
What a lot of folks have done is used flexible rubber tubing and slipped it over the hooks of the # PK-6 trimmer racks to prevent the metal on metal contact. The smaller hooks (see photo) are about 5/8 in diameter. Find some clear plastic tubing with a 5/8 inside diameter and slip it over the hook. If you spray some aerosol hair spray on the hook first, it'll act like a lubricant until it dries. When it dries, it'll turn tacky which will allow you to easily slide the tube in place and will hold it there once it dries.
For the larger hook, you'll need to find tubing with a 3/4 inch inside diameter and split it so it'll slip over the bottom and the side of the hook. You'll want to use a few zip ties to hold the split tubing in place so it doesn't slip off.
