Question:

Good morning. We have a 2018 Wrangler JK Sport that we are planning on towing with our RV. We are considering buying a Barricade Trail Force HD Full Width Front Bumper with LED lights #J104780. We have a Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar. Can we use your Roadmaster RM-035-1 to tow the vehicle with the D Ring mounts on this bumper? If not, what should we use as a tow plate that will work with this bumper? Want to make sure you can provide me with the necessary towing equipment before I commit to buying this bumper. Thanks!

Roadmaster offers a couple of D-ring adapters, but the adapter you need will depend on the width of the tab that attaches the D-ring to the bumper. If the tab is 3/4 of an inch wide, use # RM-035 or if it's 7/8 or 1 inch wide, use # RM-035-1. Either adapter is compatible with your Falcon # RM-522 All Terrain Tow Bar.

You'll need a few other items to flat tow your 2018 Wrangler JK. In addition to the Tow Bar which you already have and the D-ring bumper you're considering, you'll need safety cables, taillight wiring, a supplemental brake system and possibly a high/low adapter.

For safety cables, I'd recommend # RM-643 from Roadmaster. For taillight wiring, I like a diode kit like # RM-15247. For a supplemental braking system, I'd go with the Roadmaster Invisibrake, part # RM-8700.

Finally, if the installed height of the D-rings above the ground has a greater than 3 inch height difference when compared to the receiver height on the motorhome, you'll need a high/low adapter to bring the tow bar within 3 inches of level.
