I purchased CURT 56188 Vehicle-Side Custom 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness for Chevrolet Impala. It will not plug in. Do I need a converter or something different. Please advise

The CURT # C56188 is confirmed to fit your 2015 Chevrolet Impala, so I'm a little curious as to why you're having trouble plugging in. If you can tell me a bit more about how the plugs aren't connecting, I will be happy to look into this further. An additional converter shouldn't be necessary. The installation notes state:
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area (behind the driver and passenger side tail lights - inside the trunk). You will have to remove the rear scuff panel and some interior trim to access this harness.
