Question:

I have a 2019 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab with a 5 foot bed short bed. I do not have the utili-track system or a bed extender, but I do have bed rail caps. I’m interested in a tonneau cover just to help with mpgs. The tonneau covers listed on the website for trucks without the utili-track system are much more expensive than the others. Does this mean something like the TruXedo TruXport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover, Item # TX292301 won’t work on my truck because I don’t have the utili-track system? If so, why does the cover fit other trucks without the utili-track system as in the photos? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Given the description of what you're looking for, it sounds as if you're wanting a basic tonneau cover without all the bells and whistles.

The folks at Access tell me that their # A22030179 TonoSport that you've looked at will work perfectly with your 2019 Frontier, regardless of whether or not it has the utili-track system. The TonnoSport would be an excellent choice for a bare bones but well-built and durable tonneau cover. The Truxedo Truxport you referenced, part # TX292301 would also be a fit, and would also work well for you. The Access model will sit lower to the top of the truck bed sides, at about an inch, compared to the 1-1/2 inch for the Truxedo model.

Given the choice between the two, I'd personally choose the Truxedo model, due to its 5 year warranty versus 2 years offered by the Access model.

Both covers will look pretty similar and would perform identically
