Question:

what receiver would work fro a dk2 avalanche elite snow plow mounted on a 1997 dodge ram 2500 ext. cab 4 wheel drive long bed truck? Would I need a down adapter? looking to buy both plow and receiver

You can use the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 31604 on your 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 with Extended Cab and long bed, which would give you the front mounted hitch receiver you need to carry the Detail K2 Avalanche Elite Snowplow for 2" Hitches - 84" Wide x 22" Tall # K2AVAL8422ELT. Additionally, you would not need any type of drop adapter for this setup.

You could also use the Detail K2 Avalanche Snowplow for 2" Hitches - 84" Wide x 22" Tall # K2AVAL8422, which also has the same remote function, but moves the plow with a winch instead of an actuator, so it's a bit less prone to malfunction in the long term.
