What Gauge Wiring for Boat Trailer Lights?

Question:

Rewind a boat trailer. Wiring is 25 feet plug to tail lights. Using 4 led marker lights and 2 stop/turn/tail lights. What gauge of wire should I use?

Most trailer wiring that runs to incandescent trailer lights is 16 gauge which would be a little less than what we would like, However for LED lighting 16 or 18 gauge is fine. To make your project easier I would use the Optronics # A35W42B wiring harness. This will give you 35 feet of wire for each line so you don't have to worry about running short.
