Question:

I have a roadmaster sterling towbar serial 026388...I need base plates for my 1995 jeep wrangler....help....I have the u bumper with the round bar behind it...I would appreciate any help.

For the 1995 Jeep Wrangler with the U-channel bumper you can use base plates # 1409-3 with your Sterling tow bar. The Sterling tow bar includes the safety cables so you will not need to add additional cables. It should also have a 6-Way connector. Magnetic light kit # SPL30B-6 uses a 6-Way connector if you do not already have a light kit.

In additional to the base plates, tow bar, safety cables, and lights, most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system, # RM-9400, which applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the RV is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

Be sure to consult the Jeep owners manual for additional information on the correct recreational towing method for the Jeep. I have included some helpful links on flat towing for you.
