How Can Trailer Lights be Powered without Having Vehicle Connected or Ran from Outlet

Updated 09/30/2020 | Published 09/27/2020

Question:

Is there a way to get power to an enclosed trailer without hooking up to vehicle? I am specifically looking to see if there is a way to connect an enclosed trailer to house hold power to be able to use the lights inside of the trailer? Any sort of converter to go from the plug that would normally connect to the truck, but to connect to household power instead?

Typically for small interior lights on a trailer people install a car battery in the trailer and run power from it. If you are wanting to run a power wire from a household shore power outlet you'd have to install a panel like the Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 35 Amp # PD4135K which can convert the AC power to a charge for a trailer battery as well as power DC trailer lights.
