Will Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack Fit on 2012 Toyota Prius Compact
Question:
For the 2012+ Toyota Prius C 2 inch Stealth Trailer Hitch what is the Kuat Sherpa bike rack I should purchase? I just have a single bike and this is my only car. The bike I have is a standard Trek not a mountain bike. It is very light in that I can lift it with just a finger. I am 62 years old, 5foot 6inch and weigh 175 lbs. I have just purchsed the Trailer hitch and havent seen it yet...Its on its way. I get the impression that the Kuat Sherpa bike racks are made mostly for at least 2 bikes. There isnt one for just a single bike I take it? Im trying my best to keep the cost down but at the same time want quality and after much reviewing of the bike racks out there it appears that the Kuat Sherpa is the best. Can you please provide the part number of the Kuat Sherpa bike rack for my requirements. If you guys have a demo model and if its cheaper I dont mind taking it. Thanks,

The Kuat Sherpa Hitch Bike Rack, part # SH12B, you have referenced is one of our best selling hitch bike racks. It will fit Class I and Class II 1-1/4 inch hitches. It is made of lightweight, rustproof aluminum and folds up out of the way when not being used. It uses an adjustable hook that grabs the front tire to hold your bike in place, so it does not touch the frame of your Trek bike. I am including a link to a video review on the Kuat bike rack.
You will want to look at the owners manual for your 2012 Toyota Prius C to determine if a hitch can be used on your vehicle. It has been our understanding that Toyota prohibits the installation of a trailer hitch for towing, or the use of hitch mounted accessories. But, hitches are still made for them because there is a market for them.
