1 have a 2016 ford escape with factory roof rack and crossbar- will this be a good fit or are my bars too thin ? Thanks

Yes they are! Etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier #e98878 fits bars within 7/8" to 1-1/2" thickness. I'm a big fan of how they're designed to fit most factory crossbars.
From what I know, the factory bars for the Ford Escapes since 2013 are the flat and thin style. Unless they have a different design for your bars, they are a confirmed fit for your 2016 Ford Escape. You also won't have the slight tilt that round bar owners sometimes experience when their carrier is unloaded, so that's great!
