Parts Needed To Tow a Small Trailer with a 2017 Lexus RX 350

Question:

We’re about to receive a 100lb tandem kayak we’d rather tow than lift onto the roof rack of our SUV. We don’t have the towing package on our 2017 RX 350. What’s the simplest hook up to be able to tow our kayak to a nearby state park?

In order to tow a small trailer with a 2017 Lexus RX 350 you'll first need a trailer hitch, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e94AR is what I recommend because of the super easy installation and hidden cross tube design. In order to control the lights, you'll need a trailer wiring harness, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118255 will offer plug-in-play installation. To complete your setup, you will need the etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900 but that's it.
