For your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee the base plate kit you will need is either the Roadmaster XL base plate kit, part number 1427-1, or Roadmaster MX Base plate kit, part number 1427-3. Either kit will work on your vehicle, selection will depend on the tow bar you own or select and the features of each style of base plate kit.
The XL base plate kit will require a cross bar on the tow bar and you will need the optional quick disconnects to easily remove the visible portions of the bracket when not towing. This kit is easy to install and can be used with any of the Roadmaster tow bars.
The MX base plate kit is rated for heavier duty applications and does not require a cross bar to be attached to the mounting brackets. The MX base plate kit can be used with all Roadmaster motor home-mounted tow bars that slide into a 2 inch trailer hitch but can not be used with tow bars that require a hitch ball.
Along with the base plate kit you may need (if you do not already have them) a tow bar, wiring for the towed vehicle and safety cables.
