The Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock part # BLTL-33-40D is only for use when the trailer is not connected to the tow vehicle. If you are looking for a locking device that will work while coupled you can just use a standard pin lock like the etrailer Pin Lock part # e98886. If you want both types that have the same key then go with the Reese Tow and Store Lock Kit part # # RP7014700.
