Question:
Hello, I am looking to replace axles on a trailer for a sailboat. This is a “custom trailer” that I inherited with the boat. I hope the picture are helpful. I was replacing the leaf springs when I realized one of the axles was rusted through. The axle is 88” from brake hubs and 72” and from the center of each Leaf spring center bolt. There is also a 4” spindle . It has a 5 hole mount for my 12” hydraulic break drums 6 bolt. The leaf springs are attached to the top of the axle. I am thinking the axle weight is between 5200 to 6000 lbs. Do you have an axle that would work here?

We have an axle that will work for you. The # 8327820 that you've already looked at measures 89 inches from hub face to hub face, and the spring seats are 74 inches apart, measured center to center. The 1 inch additional axle beam length which works out to 1/2 inch per side won't make any difference. However, you would need to replace the existing spring seats using part # TRSS300 and have them welded into the correct 72 inch center to center dimension to fit your needs, but this would be less of a hassle than having to order a custom axle.
The axle beam includes a 5 bolt brake mounting flange and is compatible with a 25580 inner and LM67048 outer bearing.
If your current hub/drums use a different bearing set, you'd need to replace the hub so it's compatible with the spindles using # 8-201-5UC3-EZ, which have a 6 lug on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
