Question:
I have a 2014 Audi Q5 3.0T and need a complete set-up to tow an Airstream Basecamp. I am planning to get the Draw-tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver #75940 and th Stabilization Pin #63232, but thats the farthest Ive gotten because a I am a total newbie, and b you have a dizzying array of parts and options on the site. I need a fully-wired 7-way connector including 12V line, a ball mount for a hitch ball height of 18inch according to the Airstream Basecamp manual, and a 2-5/16inch ball. Of course, I would like a clean way to mount the 7-way connector too. Can you please provide me with a concise parts list so that I can place an order? Thanks!

In order to tow a trailer with a 2014 Audi Q5 you'll need a trailer hitch, trailer wiring harness, brake controller (if applicable), and ball mount/hitch ball. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75940 is a great option to start with. For the trailer wiring, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56404 is what I would start with as it can then be adapted to a 7-way using the Trailer Brake Controller Install Kit part # ETBC7L. This setup will then work perfectly with the Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180. I really strongly encourage you to use these exact parts for the wiring since it's the only option that will not require you to do any splicing into the vehicles wiring.
The etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # EBMK2416 would then complete your setup and you could even add the ani-rattle lockin pin # 63232 as well.
