I want to get this as a gift for my husband and he has a 2003 Ford F-250. Also, is it permanently attached or is easy to remove? The truck doesn’t have a roof rack or anything.

The Rhino Rack Fishing Rod Holder part # RR574F can work great on the roof of your husbands 2003 Ford F-250 but there will need to be a roof rack installed as well since it can't attach to a naked roof.
The most cost effective rack would be the Rola part # R5007. This and the rod holder are easy to remove when not in use as well.
