Question:

Hi, I have a diesel 2019 Ram 3500 SRW Mega Cab 4x4 without ram boxes with the factory oem prep. I recently purchased a Curt A16 fifth wheel with the oem mount. I’m also in the market for a tonneau cover. I had the Backflip MX4 on a previous truck and liked it pretty well. I’m wondering if something like the Pace Edwards Switchblade might be a better option though. I’m hoping you could provide some recommendations though. Cheers!

For your 2019 Ram 3500 I think the Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover - Aluminum and Vinyl - Black Item # 311-SWD7833 is a great option if you don't mind giving up a little bed space. The cover takes up 15" plus of bed space from the top of the bulkhead back when it is retracted and the rails stick inside the bed about 2-1/8". The canister that the cover rolls into hangs down about 8-3/8". If you are OK with losing that bed space I would recommend going with this cover.

Another great option is the BAK Revolver X4 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK64ZR. Instead of having the canister taking up 8 plus inches of bed space against the bulk head, this cover rolls up level with the top of your bed rails against the window to give you all of your bed space. It is also as low profile as the Switchblade when closed. The rails stick inside the bed about 2-1/2". When rolled up against the window it is only about a 9-1/2" roll so you still have ample amount of visibility through your back window.

Neither one of these covers will interfere with a fifth wheel hitch and provides excellent coverage for the hitch when not towing.
