Can the Heat Exchange Be Bypassed on the Atwood RV Water Heater w/ Heat Exchange part# AT94023

Question:
I bought this water heater and was unaware that it had a heat exchange option. I purchased for an airstream trailer so wont be able to use that function. Given this can I just install tubing to connect the two openings that are meant for the heat exchange or do I need to return and get a new model?

Yes the ports can be connected/bypassed on the Atwood RV Water Heater w/ Heat Exchange part # AT94023. This is basically a pre heating of the water using your coolant from the engine so it is ready to use when you reach your destination using the energy already being produced by the engine reducing the energy used to heat it up.
