Question:
I have a 2011 Chevy traverse without a towing package. I’m wondering what kind of hitch to get that mounts to my frame to pull a motorcycle tent camper that weighs 300lbs empty.

I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch part # 75528. It mounts directly to the frame rail, has a 750 lb max tongue weight and a 7500 lb max towing capacity. It's more than enough for your trailer but gives you enough towing capacity that if you decided later to get a bigger trailer later, it could handle it. Here is a link to a video on the 2011 Traverse that walks you through how to install the hitch and some photos of the hitch installed on the vehicle.
The hitch also has a welded on bracket for your wiring accessories. Since you are going to be towing a trailer I also recommend Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness part # 118450 and the Tow Ready 4-pole mounting bracket, # 18144 and the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 7.5K Item # C45534
I have provided links to videos to help walk you through installing the hitch and wiring.
