Question:
Hi, Im wondering how far below the rear bumper will the hitch be? In other words, what will be the clearance decrease between the ground and the hitch, how low does the hitch hang? Thank you.

The Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver with Drawbar, part # 11096, is designed so that the receiver tube will sit right underneath the rear bumper of your vehicle with minimal clearance. I would measure how far the bumper of your 2008 Volkswagen Passat Wagon sits from the ground, and then subtract about 2-1/2 to 3 inches from that. The result will be close to how far the hitch will sit from the ground.
