Question:
I have a 2019 F-150 4x4 with max trailer tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer. I am looking at your Curt C31083 front mount hitch and Yakima YO2479 rack to carry 2-50# bikes. Is this the best combination? I am most concerned that the bike rack does not conflict with the extended nose of the truck. It appears that the Curt hitch has a longer receiver than the Draw-Tite #65067, so it would be the preferred choice. I measure on my truck, 10 inch from the front lower cowling which the receiver passes thru to clear the truck nose overhang. Based on your videos and specs, it appear that the bike rack may have adequate clearance when set horizonal with bikes loaded, but will not clear when the rack is set vertically for storage, Perhaps I can live with this, but need you to confirm my observations. It also appears that the bike rack will not conflict when horizontal or vertical when used in my existing 2 inch receiver at the tail gate. Pls. expediate response as I need to order soon. Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The 10 inches you are measuring may not be quite enough to fit a platform rack with either front trailer hitch that fits your 2019 Ford F-150, the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65067 or Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31083.
The Curt hitch is the better choice for a front hitch on your F-150 because of its better ground clearance.
