Question:
Hello there, I have two questions regarding trailer hitches for a 2010 Ford Edge. I watched the Video Best 2010 Ford Edge Hitch Options and in the video, its stated that the Curt Hitch #C13067 recommends a Stabilizing Strap #18050 for all non-trailer applications. Is this strap recommended for the other brands as well, such as the etrailer #e98870 and the DrawTite #75992? Or are these hitches designed in a way that dont require them? Question 2 is in regards to the design of the Class 3 hitches. In the installation video, part #75526 is installed, which requires no drilling. This part has since been superseded by #75992, which requires drilling. My question is, would there be any problems if I install #75992 using only the 4 mounting positions in the frame that dont require drilling? After all, thats how it used to be... Thank you very much for your help! I look forward to hearing from you!

Expert Reply:
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98870 and Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75992 are both great options for a 2010 Ford Edge, neither require the support strap. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver because it has a hidden design.
In regards to installation, you will need to drill two total holes to properly install either hitch as per the instructions.
