Can you recommend a low friction pad or that will aid in sliding the cargo onto the rack and protecting it from scratching and abrasion?

For the Thule TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Fixed Mount - 800 lbs - Silver # TH27000XT you can use the Thule SUP and Surfboard Pads for AeroCrossbars - 20" Long - Qty 2 # TH845000 which are pads large enough for the wide crossbars of that ladder rack.
