When bolting the track on is there a preferred or recommended spacing for the bolts?

The Buyers Products Sliding Winch Track # 3371903040 that you referenced has mounting holes pre-drilled near the ends of the track but if you wanted to use a different set of holes you certainly could. There isn't a requirement for where they would have to be. The track is 72 inches overall.
