LEDs On Draw-Tite Activator IV Trailer Brake Controller Stay Lit With Vehicle Off

Question:

Just installed on a 2019 RAM classic and two LEDs stay on even when truck is off. I used the correct supplied harness.

The Draw-Tite Activator IV Trailer Brake Controller part # 5504 will not turn off as soon as the vehicle is turned off. The Draw-Tite Activator IV like most trailer brake controllers will go into a sleep mode after about 15 minutes of inactivity. The controller will never lose power completely but after the set time has expired the display will go blank. That said, if you open the door that would trigger the system to awake so if you want to check you simply need to peek in through the window.
