Question:
I tried to replace my kw1 filter with the cam 40621. This is what Erik B. Suggested in the question and answers. I could not install the filter and not have a leak. Is there a solution to this situation?

The Camco Replacement KDF/Carbon Filter Cartridge part # CAM40621 is a direct replacement for the Camco RV and Marine Premium Water Filter part # CAM40631. It is a standard size filter that falls in the cci-10-clw type. If this is the same type filter that cam out of the original (which all signs point to it being that) then you should have no issues.
To fix this I would check the filter housing inside and make sure there is no build up or debris in the housing that may cause the filter not to set properly. After checking that I would ensure the filter is seating properly in the housing. After that the top goes on and to tighten down properly you will want to use the wrench provided with your filter to ensure that the seal is made properly and you have no leaks.
