Expert Reply:
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13332 is a fit for both short and long bed models. This is a great option and is a strong hitch for your 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. You will be restricted by your vehicle towing capacity as this hitch is rated higher than your vehicle. You can determine your total towing capacity by looking at your driver door sticker and looking at the GCVR then subtracting your GVWR.
