I'd be happy to tell you all the parts you'd need to install a brake controller in your 2016 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 that has 4-way. You will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. You were also correct that a brake pedal switch, Roadmaster's # RM-751475, will be necessary for your Sprinter.
As for a brake controller, I strongly recommend the Prodigy P2 # 90885; it is the most popular model we carry due to its effectiveness and ease of use. It will activate your trailer's brakes immediately in proportion to your Sprinter's brakes and offers three different boost levels so you can adjust your braking power.
The P3 levels automatically, has constant diagnostic checks, contains safeguards which defend your controller against shorts.
