I looked up the towing capacity of your 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500HD and the lowest towing capacity it could have based on options is 13,000 lbs so a 8,800 lb 5th wheel trailer would easily be towable with your truck.
Since your truck has a short bed you'd need a slider hitch so that you'd have enough turning clearance to make sharp turns without cab and trailer nose interference. The B and W Companion slider hitch part # BWRVK3400-5W is what I recommend for several reasons. This USA made hitch is widely considered to be the best hitch due to how easy it is to use, how well it's made (will last forever basically), the fact it's breaks down easily for an easier install/removal, it's very quiet on the road, and the fact that when not in use you get a clean truck bed without large rails in the bed. To install it you'd just want the # BWGNRK1016-5W which also doubles as a gooseneck hitch.
