Custom install rail kits are the way to go for trucks like your 2018 Toyota Tundra short bed. They minimize drilling and install time quite a bit and are overall just much easier to install. Universal kits are pretty challenging and require frame drilling which is why I don't recommend them. So for your truck I'd recommend the Reese Custom install kit part # RP50084-58 which is a custom fit for your truck. The rails provided are also industry standard style so they will also fit the hitch you have as well.
