Question:

I have the medium-sized Yakima Off Grid rack that I sometimes run with the 18 inch extension when I need the extra space. Will the batwing compact mount to this rack? I am using Yakima timberline towers on Corebars, Thank you!

In order to use the Rhino-Rack Batwing Compact Awning part # RR33400 you must switch from the Yakima CoreBar Crossbars part # Y00421 to the Yakima JetStream Crossbars part # Y00425.

The Yakima JetStream Crossbars will work with your TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars part # Y33TR so no worries here. The reason you must switch is that the Batwing mounts inside a crossbar channel which the CoreBar does not have but the JetStream does and will work with your setup so you are in luck.

The Batwing mounts to the crossbar, not the cargo basket so there won't be an issue using both.
