Installation of RedArc BCDC on Vehicle with Alternator Charge Line

Question:
Just a quick question: does hooking this unit up by utilizing a an input from the truck that is separate from the 7 pin plug create any issues with the alternator charge voltage coming through the 7 pin? In other words, should I disconnect that input to the battery? Or just ignore it and not worry about it?

I reached out to RedArc to confirm this, and you will not have any issues wiring it in this manner. They did mention that the RedArc BCDC # 331-BCDC1240D, starting battery and auxiliary battery would all need to be connected to a common ground, but you will be able to leave the circuit going from the alternator through the 7 pin in place.
