Question:
The owners manual for my 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport says that my vehicle is not rated for towing, yet I'm seeing that there are available hitches; Why would they make a hitch for a vehicle that isn't supposed to tow anything?

This is a great question, and it really comes down to the fact that manufacturers will make just about anything that there is a demand for and a hitch provides more functionality than just towing a trailer. A lot of users prefer to use hitch mounted cargo carriers or bike racks like the Kuat Transfer 2 # KU74FR on their trailer hitches to transport different things from place to place, instead of using the interior cargo space.
For your 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport, I recommend using the Curt # C13377, which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and a concealed cross-tube for a hitch that is mostly hidden behind the bumper of the vehicle. This hitch will allow you to carry a variety of hitch mounted accessories like cargo carriers and bike racks.
