Question:
Will the rear hatch on my 2005 Toyota 4Runner clear this cargo carrier ?

The Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray Cargo Carrier part # CC-255 should not interfere with opening the rear hatch but then again this is not really possible for us to test on every trailer/vehicle combo. That said, if you can clear the tongue jack then odds are you can clear the cargo tray as well. I took a look at the reviews and there was only one mention of this issue on a different vehicle with larger hatch but they could have had a short trailer tongue and that issue was resolved by further lining up the trailer and vehicle straight ahead. The Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray Cargo Carrier is adjustable so you can install it so that it sits directly in front of the camper body, furthest away from the coupler. The The Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray Cargo Carrier is 20" wide if you wish to try and measure beforehand.
If for some reason you do have an issue with opening the rear hatch, you can always use a ball mount or weight distribution shank with longer shaft. The Curt Class III Drawbar part # C45270 or Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4500 for example.
