Question:

The dry weight of my boat is 4000 lbs and I have carpeted bunk boards on my trailer. I am looking at replacing my winch strap which is currently mounted on a Fulton XLT1801 winch. I measured the strap width and it is 1-7/8, but after doing a little research I found that the strap on the model winch I have is 2. Could you please recommend a replacement strap for me?

After doing some research on your XLT1801 which has been replaced by the Fulton XLT 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Heavy Duty 20' Strap part # F142418 with a 2,600 lb capacity the strap is 20' long x 2" wide like you mentioned. The replacement strap is Fulton Heavy-Duty Winch Strap with Hook part # FWS20HD0200.

Heather, I have a boat mate trailer with a 5400 pound boat on it. The Fulton xlt 1801 is on my trailer as well. Would this strap you recommended be the direct replacement for mine as well?

@MattP Yes, technically the 4,000 lb strap part # FWS20HD0200 will work for your setup but you are a tad bit over the weight limit with your 5400 lb boat. I recommend to make sure you have quality rollers to distribute some of the weight when pulling the boat out of the water.
