Question:

I purchased a set of TC3229CAM that fits my truck with 285/75/16 tires. The bag says it should also fit my other truck with 285/75/17 tires but for the life of me cannot get them to go on. Even tried the old 2x4 under the tires trick to give me more slack. Am I installing them wrong? is there another size up I should get?

The Titan Chain Tire Chains w Cams part # TC3229CAM are indeed listed as a fit for both 285/75-16 and 285/75-17 tires. However, certain tires can cause issues due to the tread/sidewall design which appears to be the issue you are having. Furthermore, the 285/75-17 tires are on the very outside range that the above Titan Chain Tire Chains w Cams can accommodate. Therefore, you should upgrade to the Titan Chain Tire Chains w Cams part # TC3231CAM which are the same style/design as the above but are larger therefore will fit easier over the tires.
