Question:
Recently ordered a Bulldog Winch 15001 from you and having trouble connecting. My battery on my atv is at the back. Can the short wires from the control box be wired to the winch and the long to the battery? or do they have to be wired with short to the battery? Also my control box is not working, no power, and looked inside and one of the relay plugs outer black plastic is melted a little. Obviously thats why the winch wont work. Can these relay plugs be replaced or do I have to get a whole new control box?

I spoke to the tech at Bulldog Winch and the Bulldog Winch Powersports Series ATV Winch part # BDW15001 power unit 18" wire and 6' wire can be switched but you would need to open up the power unit box and actually switch the wires in the circuits and not just wire them switched. Bulldog has had a lot of issues where customers have switched the wires and burned out the relays and wiring inside the power unit.
The 2 relays can be replaced with part # BDW20101 but the wiring will most likely also need to be replaced as well. I recommend to replace the Bulldog Winch power unit with part # BDW20115 because it is easier than sourcing your own wiring.
