Question:
Would the Reese Steadi-Flex shown here work well with an 8500 lb Airstream towed by a Chevy Silverado 2500 with the big diesel engine? Im new to this, and this hitch looks like its simpler than the chain arrangement to use. Is it heavy-duty enough to handle that heavy a trailer?

Expert Reply:
The Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution system # RP66561 would work well with your trailer, if you are experiencing little to moderate trailer sway and the trailer's tongue weight is between 700-1400 lbs. For maximum sway control, you'd want to use the Strait-Line Weight Distribution Hitch System, like part # RP66074 rated for trailer whose tongue weights range from 600-1200 lbs. This system includes the Dual Cam Sway Control System, which will stop trailer sway before it can occur. Once dialed in for your trailer, this system is just as easy to use as the Steadi-Flex.
The system includes a height adjustable shank, but the 2-5/16 inch trailer ball is sold separately as part # 19286.
