Question:
I have 8k dexter axles, oil bath, hydraulic disk brakes. I didnt know that my brake pads were completely gone, and I used the brakes without any brake pads. And the rotor got damaged. My question is: besides new rotors and new brake pads, do I need to replace anything else? Brake shoes maybe? For example, do this kind of brakes have brake shoes?

Expert Reply:
If you were to use your disc brakes without any pad material present then most likely the rotor would be damaged beyond repair but other than this no, none of the other components should have been damaged. There are no shoes on most trailer disc brakes so no worries here. Therefore, you should be good to go and back up and running with just the Replacement 13" Rotor for Dexter Disc Brakes part # K71-631-00 and the Dexter Semi-Metallic Disc Brake Pads part # K71-629.
