Question:
Hello. I would like to use this fixture as a third brake light by tapping power off of a standard four wire flat feed from my tow vehicle. How can I wire this lamp to work as a drive and brake light only? I am not interested in having it serve as a turn signal. Is that possible? Tow Vehicle is a 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 Double Cab V6. What do you think?

In order to get a light like # STL69RB, to function as a third brake light and running light, you will have to tap into specific wires on the truck. For the running light function, you can tap into any wire that carries the running light function and attach it to the black wire on this light.
But the stop light is going to be a little trickier. You do not want to tap into the 4-Way trailer wiring because that would cause the light to blink with a turn signal. What you need is the center high mount stop light circuit (CHMSL). The most likely place to find this circuit near the back of the truck would be up underneath the bed, possibly close to where the trailer wiring harness is located. I cannot say for certain where it might be. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wires.
You will want the wire that shows a signal only when the brake pedal is pressed and not when the running lights are on or the turn signals are on.
If you cannot find this wire under the truck, you can test the wires on the brake switch above the brake pedal. There will be several wires going in and coming out. Again, you want the one that shows a signal only when the brake pedal is pressed and not when the running lights are on or the turn signals are on.
Once you have located the appropriate wire in either location, connect it to the red wire on this light. Make sure to ground the light to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface on the truck.
