Recommended Sway Control System for a Little Guy Mini Max Trailer

Updated 09/21/2019 | Published 09/20/2019

Question:

Can you recommend a different type of sway bar other than a friction bar for a lil guy mini max being pulled with a 4 door Jeep Wrangler. Every time we get on the highway we have to stop and adjust the bar. When we get off the highway we have to stop and losen the bar otherwise overtime we lose friction and the trailer sways. I would like something that I don’t have to constantly get out of my vehicle to manually adjust.

The friction type sway bar that you are using now is a good cost effective solution to help combat trailer sway but they do require frequent adjustments and can wear out over time which sounds like what is happening to yours. The best upgrade we have for this is a weight distribution system with integrated sway control. I know you may not think you need a distribution system if you aren't already using one but the sway control built-into these systems are the most advanced and work the best to prevent/reduce trailer sway. The best part of all is that once you go through the initial setup procedure, you don't have to stop and adjust them each time.

I recommend the Husky Center Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control part # HT32215 which is one of the best bang for your buck systems on the market. This system will not only help with trailer sway but it will also help with braking and the overall stability of the tow vehicle. It comes with a lifetime warranty as well.
