Do I Need Plumbers Putty To Install LaSalle Bristol RV Sink Drain with Stainless Steel Strainer

Question:
I just received this replacement strainer for my Forest River toyhauler. Should I use plumbers putty or is that what the rubber washer is for? The original one had the rubber washer under the sink mounted up under the strainer with some super sticky putty/tape under the top part in the sink. But it seems to fit well with the rubber washer under the upper piece in the sink. Maybe you could include directions with the product or have an installation video on your web site. Thanks!

The LaSalle Bristol RV Sink Drain with Stainless Steel Strainer Basket part # 34465JN10081 does not require plumbers putty or tape because it has a thick rubber gasket that will seal that strainer. We have not yet had the chance to install the strainer in a RV but I did link an informational video. A quick google search of the part and I was able to find installation videos.
